Persistence of vision

Persistence of vision is a commonly-accepted although somewhat controversial theory which states that the human eye always retains images for a fraction of a second (around 0.04 second). This means that everything we see is a subtle blend of what is happening now and what happened a fraction of a second ago. This is when the brain is tricked into believing that a series of still images are moving images.

Name Logo

I designed my name logo using InDesign software. Firstly I changed the page dimensions to A5 Landscape.

I chose the Type Tool (T) and moved to the page. Experimented with different type faces and fonts.

Eventually I decided to use Minion Pro type face, size 92pts. This is a Serif Roman font. A Roman font is upright and has thick and thin parts to the letters. A serif is a small decorative line added make the font face more attractive they are at the outer edge of the letter. Typefaces are described either serif or sans serif (which means without any serifs).

Leading is the horizontal space between sentences. Kerning is the space between each individual letter. The leading is 78pts and the kerning is 50pts.

Tracking is the vertical space between each word.
